How Circuit Commits Works

Enter your metrics & build your profile

In the workbench, enter your measurables — 60 time, pitching / infield / outfield velocity, exit velo, catcher pop time and velo — then hit Save & show my heat maps. Each number drops onto a heat map showing where it lands on our 1–10 tier scale — 10 is the strongest program in the country, 1 the weakest — both where you are now and where you project by your class year.

While you're here, fill out your player bio: photo, height/weight, positions, hometown, high school and travel team, plus your coach contacts. Set your home state too — that's what tells the app whether a public school's in-state or out-of-state tuition applies to you. This is what a college coach sees when they open your profile — make it complete.

Add your home ZIP as well. Every school then shows how far away it is and roughly how long the drive is, and you can sort or filter by either — "show me everything within four hours of home" is one of the fastest ways to narrow a list. There's an optional street address field too, which sharpens the numbers for schools close to home; for anything further out the ZIP is just as good, so leave it blank if you'd rather.

Link your X (Twitter) & add your highlights

Add your X handle and paste links to the posts you want coaches to see — your best game film, bullpen videos, or showcase clips. They'll appear right on your bio so a coach can watch you play in one click. Highlights turn a profile from numbers into a real player.

Find your best fit

Open the Best Fit tool. First, tell it what matters more to you using the importance sliders across priorities like academics, cost, distance, school size, and selectivity — then set your preference for each (closer vs. farther, cheaper, more or less selective, and so on).

The tool blends your projected level (from your metrics in Step 1) with your priorities into a single fit score, then ranks the schools that fit you best overall. It's the fastest way to turn "there are a thousand schools" into "here are the ones that make sense for me."

About the Baseball Tier: as a subscriber you'll see our proprietary 1–10 tier grade on every school — 10 is the strongest program in the country, 1 the weakest. It's how you aim at the right level instead of guessing:

The tier is division-blind on purpose. A strong Division II program can and does outrank a weak Division I one — the old ladder couldn't say that, and it was costing recruits real options.

Line your projected level up with a school's tier to find programs where you'd realistically compete and play.

Build your target list

Save the schools that fit to your Target List — your working shortlist. Aim for a healthy mix: some reaches, some right-at-your-level matches, and some safeties. There's more to the perfect fit than numbers alone, but this is a strong, honest starting point to build from.

Reach out to coaches — and log every conversation

Now the real work begins. Every school profile carries its coaching staff and contact details, and the workbench has the tools to actually run the outreach.

Hit Contact on any school in your target list and Circuit Commits opens a message with a template you can edit and your own information already filled in. It sends from your email, not ours — a coach replies straight to you, the way it should be. Then every email, call, visit, camp, and offer goes into that school's activity timeline, so you always know who you've spoken to, what was said, and who's owed a follow-up.

This step is the hardest and takes the longest — and that's completely okay. Recruiting is a grind of emails, follow-ups, and patience. Don't get discouraged if it's slow. If it starts to feel stuck, that's your cue to go back a step — revisit your Best Fit, widen your target list, or double-check you're aiming at the right level.

Get in front of them at a camp

An email tells a coach your numbers. A camp lets him watch you throw. College programs run their own prospect camps, and they are one of the few ways to be evaluated in person by the staff that would actually recruit you.

Coaches post their camps directly on Circuit Commits. You will find them in two places: on any school's profile, under the coaching staff, and all together on the Recruiting Camps tab — every upcoming camp in the country, sortable by date, by how close it is to your home ZIP, by state, and by tier. Each listing carries the dates, cost, location, which coaches will be there, and a link to sign up directly with the school.

Prioritise camps at schools already on your target list, and at the tier you project to. A camp at a program four tiers above you is a long day and an expensive one. A camp at a school that already fits your numbers is where offers actually come from.

Track your progress as you improve

Open the Progress tab and log a checkpoint whenever you get fresh numbers — after a showcase, a bullpen, or a session with your trainer. Each metric gets its own chart with the Baseball Tiers shaded in behind it, so you can literally watch your line climb through the levels over time.

Up always means better, even for the 60 and pop time, where a faster number plots higher. Every chart shows whether you're improving, flat, or sliding, and how much you've gained since your first checkpoint.

This matters more than most players realize: coaches recruit trajectory. "88 today" is one thing. "83 eighteen months ago, 88 now" is a completely different conversation — and this is where you'll have the receipts for it.

Keep your list current & rate each school

As conversations happen, move each school through the stages (interested → contacted → talking → visit → offer → committed) so you always know where you stand with everyone.

Rate each school 1–5 stars (5 = best) on Coaches, Campus, Facilities, and Campus life. These are completely subjective — it's your gut feel from visits, calls, and research. They'll matter in the final step.

Compare your top schools

When you're down to a real decision between multiple programs, open the Compare Schools tool and pick up to 5. Rank your priorities again — including how much playing level fit matters to you — and this time the tool also folds in the subjective star ratings from Step 7 alongside the hard facts like tuition and academics.
